Clips & Grips

Clips & Grips
Wire rope clips aka wire rope grips, are fittings used to make an eye or join two cable or wire rope ends together. Wire rope clips are used wherever the wire rope used is not circular but are not intended for use in overhead lifting operations. The two layers of wire rope are placed in the u-bolt. The saddle is then fitted over the ropes on to the bolt (the saddle includes two holes to fit to the u-bolt).
However, heavy duty clips, like g450 wire rope clips, italy type clips made from dropped forged steel, can be used for securing an overhead load, examples of these are guy lines and scaffolding. Lighter duty clips, called malleable clips, like din741 wire rope clip, din1142 wire rope clip, it was made from iron, used for non-critical applications with relatively light loads such as fences. Do not use malleable clips for critical, heavy duty, or overhead loads. Simplex clips and duplex clips are designed for wire rope who require a simple loop setup. Fist wire rope clips are used in combination with wire rope and a thimble to make a secure wire loop.
